(Unexciting) Aspects of My Life

14 09 2010

Hey, Beauts

How was your Tuesday?

Mine flew by, which is always a good thing!  I’ve been so busy at work that the hours simply fly.

I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve been so busy at work and my brain is fried, but I’ve been struggling to come up with relevant posts lately.  There are a lot of bloggers out there that say they need to be inspired to post, and while I respect that, my blog is a little less serious.  I view it as one, large email chain among friends.  I simply like to chat, read your comments and open up a dialogue.

No big ideas needed.

I thought I’d let you in on certain (albeit unexciting) aspects of my life that don’t make the blog.

For example:

  • I need new perfume, new high-heeled boots, A HAIRCUT and new sneakers.  Ugh!  Why does everything always run out/need replacing at the same time?
  • I’ve picked out colors for the three rooms we want to paint.  For the downstairs bathroom, I want to do something in the cranberry – plum family.  I know that’s a large spectrum, but I still have to see the colors in person.  I like color, but this is still pretty bold.  Do you think I’m crazy?
  • I’m going to Disney for a week on October 9th.  I’m not sure I can actually portray my excitement in print other than to tell you that I created a Disney station on Pandora.  It makes the work day inevitably brighter.  If Disney tunes don’t make you smile, you’re just cold-hearted.
  • Since I’ve cut a day of running from my schedule, I’ve been concentrating on making sure that all of my other workouts really count.  I’ve reconnected with the Arc Trainer and remember what a fantastic workout it is.  If you crank the incline and resistances high, it is killer.  You should try it!
  • The other night, I created a grid of all the Fall TV shows – old and new – that Mr. KD and I are interested in watching.  Since we go to bed so early, this means that a lot of the shows are set-up to be DVRed.  I already advanced the weeks and set the DVR.  Yes, I did.  And, no, I can’t believe I just told you this.

Pasta with Goat Cheese, Asparagus and Chicken Sausage

I can’t believe it took me this long to re-create this one.  I loved it so much the first time!

I also can’t believe that I didn’t remember how substantial a portion was.  I love volume and this meal is definitely a volume pleaser.

I added in basil at the last minute, which turned out to be a very flavorful addition.  But then again – when isn’t it?

Mm hmm.  It was just as good as I remember.

Okay – off to scour OnDemand for the season finale of True Blood.  Of course, it was on there last night but we couldn’t watch it because someone refuses to watch anything that isn’t in HD.  I’ll give you a guess as to who.  Hint: It’s not me

Question: What have you been up to lately?

You are beyond adorable. BEYOND. And that dinner looks so yummy! Much better than mine will be, which unfortunately looks like a quick cheese slice at this point. I’m getting ready to leave the PT job and head to ANOTHER job to work at a Fashion Week party until 2am! Sounds glamorous, but TRUST ME, it won’t be! Gotta stay on that hustle though ;)

I love that your blog is a long email chain among friends :) What’s better than that?? I love that you want to paint a room cranberry, my kitchen is lime green and I love it!

I need new perfume and a makeup overhaul. I need a trip to Sephora, but I am putting it off because I’m dangerous in that place.

I love that you like bold paint colors. Bold colors are gorgeous and the beauty of painting is that it can be changed (at least more easily than wallpaper), so the risk is worth it.

Jealous of your Disney trip! I am going to NH this weekend…to run in the rain. What a getaway! lol

Bold colors are awesome! I just painted my livingroom orange so I can appreciate a little color. I think cranberry will be gorgeous.

I “season pass” all the shows that I watch so the DVR just automatically records them whenever they are new. Genius! The only problem is running out of space!

Totally worried about running out of room. I’m going to be a drill sergeant about viewing everything in time. Haha!

Your pictures look amazing! New Camera?

Great idea with the DVR, I should do that with my roommates! Any good recommendations for new fall shows?

No! Still the same one…I’m just getting better with lighting, I think.

I neednew high-heeled boots too and am planning on hitting Saks this weekend! I can’t believe True Blood ended this season already and now we have to wait till next year :(
Oh and your pasta looks delicious! I made something very similar last night (broccoli instead of asparagus). So good but I want to try your combo next time.

I absolutely DO NOT think you’re crazy for the paint color choices!! I am *all about* using fun colors in a house. My room, for example, is a dark purple/eggplant color. It makes it so cozy and welcoming! Side note: I’ve heard that cool colors are better than warm as far as the “energy” it places in a room. For example, choose a purple/blue based color as opposed to a red/orange based one. Does that make sense…?

Oh, and I am seriously so jealous of your trip to Disney. It is probably one of my favorite places! I was just there in April, and I was so excited that it STILL felt as magical as it did when I was a kid :) Hope you have a blast, and say hi to Ariel for me! :P

Scout’s honor – I love the color of your room, which I’ve obviously seen from your blog and that is what inspired me to want to paint my room this color!

Also, I’ve been dying to go to Disney since you went in April. That’s right when I started following you!
